Music Review: Paranoiacs – Across the Pond EP

Across The Pond EP *Ventuno Recordings; Release Date: May 7* by Paranoiacs ★

Ventuno Recordings recently released a new Electro House EP titled “Across the Pond” by Paranoiacs, a duo team of producers who work together from opposite sides of the globe. Joe Luongo (Canada) and Chris Carlon (England) decided to team up to take on the electro house genre by storm. Their in your face, giant saw wave style comes from influences such as Porter Robinson, Arty, Autoerotique, and Dada Life to just name a few. In their latest release, they did not disappoint this reviewer’s thirst for giant main room house and in your face sounds.

First up is the song “Magnesium” which can only be described as having a happy upbeat euphoric beat before it drops into an NI Massive explosion. The two different styles complement each other very well and give a glimpse behind the scenes of how bringing two different types of producers together can create a unique and dynamic feeling.

The next song up, “Can’t Find Molly”, starts out with big lush pads accompanied with some airy stabs before again dropping into another club stomping chorus. The production of this track really shines through with Paranoiacs brilliant ability to morph and blend two contrasting styles to make one cohesive sound.

The third song on their EP titled “Stomp On This”, basically sums up the driving force that this track has. The track features a bouncy feel-good melody paired with a kick ass distorted bass driving underneath it. Out of the four songs on this EP this one has the catchiest melody which seems to grab you right from the very start.

In this reviewer’s opinion “Rasta Rock”, the final song on the EP stands above the rest. From start to end it is a nonstop, face melting, energy bomb that provides classic electro sounds and syncopated beats that would make any electro clubber fall to the floor begging for more. Chris and Joe really hit it out of the park with this track.

If you are still here reading this and haven’t gotten your ass over to Beatport to pick up this EP yet, then what the hell are you waiting for? Show your support for these guys by liking them on Facebook, and keep an eye out for their future releases as I’m sure they won’t disappoint.

James Bach Signs with Ventuno & Plasticage Records

During the last month I have been in negotiations with Ventuno & Plasticage Records. As of April 27, we finally signed the deal and two of my songs will be coming up for release.  ”Paint Chips” will be released on May 14th and “Leave It Behind” is scheduled to launch on May 23rd.  These songs will be available through Beatport along with a new vocal version of Paint Chips plus a remixed version of Leave It Behind by my good friend Genelec.  I am very honored to be listed along side their amazing artists and look forward to working with these labels moving forward.  Keep checking back because there are two more songs that I am finishing up in May. One of which will be a free song which is a remix of a well known artist.  Thank you to everyone for your support and lets hope this is just the beginning.

New Video Uploaded

The new vocals for the song Paint Chips have just been recorded with the help of Mr. Skye and his audio engineering clas over at the Burlington County College Studio. Once again the featured vocalist is Bre Potter and I have to say, she definitely nailed it again. As a courtesy to Mr. Skye for allowing us to use the studio I am putting together a video tutorial series on how to add vocals to an existing track for his students to learn what happens after the recording process is finished.  Hopefully, some of you out there will also find this helpful.  Keep checking the media page for future installments to be added.
